CEU: Designing Adaptive Kitchens for Active Aging Clients

Description:
As Baby Boomers redefine aging, the demand for adaptive kitchens that support active aging and multigenerational living is growing. This course will examine adaptive kitchen design, connected/smart appliances, and strategies to support wellness, safety, and functionality. The CEU qualifies for continuing education credits that apply toward NAHB’s Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) credential.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine demographics of the aging population and need for adaptive design.
  • Discover how well-planned kitchens serve all users, especially active aging clients.
  • Describe design considerations that improve safety and convenience.
  • Explore appliances that enhance accessibility and ease of use.
